Frequently Asked Questions

Dr. Morris FAQ

How is a naturopathic doctor trained?

Naturopathic Doctors attend nationally accredited four-year graduate-level naturopathic medical schools. Enrollment in naturopathic medical school requires a bachelor’s degree and completion of prerequisites, similar to conventional allopathic and osteopathic medical schools. For more information visit the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education.

Do you bill insurance?

We do not. Due to the political climate in the state of Michigan regarding Naturopathic Doctors, our services are not covered by insurance and will not be covered until we gain licensure in the state. However, if you have a health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA), you are welcome to utilize it as a form of payment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. Payment is due in full at the time of consultation. Dr. Morris has never turned down a client due to financial hardship. Please complete the Contact Form if you have additional questions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Last minute cancellations are both difficult to fill and costly, therefore a non-refundable deposit is collected prior to scheduling your visit with Dr. Morris. If you cancel an appointment less than 48 hours prior to your scheduled time, you will be charged 50% of that appointment fee ($124.50). If you are a no-show for your scheduled appointment, you will be charged in full for the scheduled visit time (our current rate is $249/hour).

If I live out of state can I still work with Dr. Morris?

Absolutely! Dr. Morris has curated a program specifically for you.

Health Coaching FAQ

1. What type of people do you work with?

I specialize in simplicity. I work with people who are ready to put in the work now so they can live awesome for as long as possible. I love helping people break the chains of sugar addiction and develop (or rekindle) a love of movement. If you’re ready to increase energy, improve sleep, lift your mood, and live your best life, then it’s time to work with a Health Coach and achieve your goals.

2. Will I lose weight in your program?

The goal of my programs is to live optimally, just as you were designed to do. Typically, a happy side effect of proper nutrition, movement, recovery, and reduced toxin load is achieving your body’s perfect size. I could never guarantee a specific amount of weight loss, because not everyone NEEDS to lose a specific amount of weight. Through my individualized approach to programming, we will set goals based on your personal needs and desires.

3. What certifications do you have?

I obtained my health coach certification through the Primal Health Coach Institute. I also hold a group fitness certification through ACE, and a running coach certification through RRCA. I am in the process of achieving my personal trainer certification through ACE.

4. How long are your programs?

I offer two group programs. The first is a 21 day sugar detox. This is a fun introduction to real food based nutrition, and provides the foundation of label reading and learning about the long term impact of sugar addiction. The other group program is a 30 day reset. This is a perfect follow up to the sugar detox, as it goes even deeper into nutrition as well as touching on fitness and lifestyle habits. My one-on-one program is a monthly program, but I recommend a 6 month commitment to achieve optimal results. It takes 21 days to make/break a habit, 90 days to make it a lifestyle, and 6 months to make it second nature. The time will pass anyway, why not spend it learning how to live awesome?!

5. What if I am not local? Do you offer virtual coaching?

Through the amazing power of technology, I am able offer almost the same exact services virtually as I can in-person. Clients from all over the country have benefitted from my group programs, and with the addition of a coaching specific app, I am now able to offer my one-on-one services virtually as well!

6. How do I know your program will work for me?

If you’re committed to putting in the work, but still not sure that a Health Coach is right for you, I recommend scheduling a free discovery call with me. We can evaluate your goals together to determine if this is the best fit for you. Please call 586-422-1032 to schedule a time to chat.
